Melissa Orton is a TV Literary Agent at ICM Partners.

Melissa began her career in the TV business in 2002 at the Agency of Performing Arts (APA) and was promoted to Agent in 2005. She began to build her business while at APA, and joined ICM Partners‘ TV literary deparment in 2013. She attended Arizona State University, graduating with a BA in Marketing and Communication.

Melissa is part of a team of scripted TV agents at ICM who staff the agency’s writers on a vast variety of TV series, as well as aim to package and develop client material. She recently transitioned from ICM’s offices in Los Angeles to New York to help liaison ICM‘s comedy, publishing, and theater departments and clients with the scripted television world.

Melissa oversees the careers of a diverse roster of writers. She has packaged TV shows such as Nikki Glaser’s Not Safe for Work, Sundance’s Hap & Leonard, and Lindsey Rosin’s adaptation of Roger Kumble‘s Cruel Intentions, which is currently in motion at NBC, while also staffing clients on hit shows like Fear of the Walking Dead, Suits, Scream, The Good Wife Spinoff, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Santa Clarita Diet, and Still Star Crossed.
