Andy Greenwald

Andy Greenwald is an author, screenwriter, host, and critic. From its founding in 2011 until the site's untimely demise in 2015, Greenwald was a senior writer at Grantland, primarily covering television. While at Grantland, Greenwald's criticism was cited in publications ranging from The New Yorker to Vanity Fair and his commentary was featured on NPR, CBS, and the BBC.

Prior to Grantland, Greenwald's writing was published in Spin, Entertainment Weekly, The New York Times Magazine, Vulture, and The Washington Post. He is the author of two books, Nothing Feels Good: Punk Rock, Teenagers, and Emo (St. Martin's Press, 2003), a cult-hit examination of young people's relationship to music, technology, and each other, and Miss Misery: A Novel (Simon & Schuster, 2006).

Currently, Greenwald is hosting two popular podcasts for The Ringer: The Watch (with Chris Ryan) and The Andy Greenwald Podcast (recent guests include Trevor Noah, Damon Lindelof, and Broad City stars Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer).
