David is a multi-award-winning writer & producer best known as the creator of iconic BAFTA-winning BBC espionage drama SPOOKS (MI-5 in the US) which ran for 10 seasons on BBC One, and which has remained one of UK television’s most successful television exports around the world.
Most recently David was co-creator/showrunner on Canal+ global English-language period epic VERSAILLES (Canal+) with frequent collaborator Simon Mirren.
Other work include David Tennant legal thriller series THE ESCAPE ARTIST, psychiatric drama PSYCHOS for Channel 4 (starring Douglas Henshall) and BAFTA-nominated BBC FILMS Rwanda-set feature SHOOTING DOGS (dir. Michael Caton-Jones, starring John Hurt and Hugh Dancy).
David lives mostly in the airport departure lounges of Los Angeles, London and Paris.
